1. Good machining and manufacturing characteristics
In addition to turning on CNC lathes, most aluminum die-casting molds require some drilling and milling services. Injection mold must use suitable strength of steel, so that the service life of the numerical control blade is increased, the machinability is improved, the surface roughness is reduced, in order to prevent the excessive consumption of numerical control blade in aluminum alloy die casting plant.
2. Good heat resistance
Aluminum alloy die casting parts usually look complicated, so we should try our best to choose the parts with better heat resistance, mainly because after heat treatment, the difficulty coefficient of production and processing will be greatly increased. After the heat treatment process, the linear expansion index of aluminum alloy die casting mold will be small, and the heat treatment process will have some small deformation, the temperature difference caused by the dimensional elastic coefficient will be smaller, the alloy composition and mold specifications are stable, variable small or not reproduced processing, can ensure the precision and roughness of the mold processing.
3. Grinding and polishing is cost-effective
High quality aluminum alloy die casting requires small surface roughness of die die. Therefore, the die must be polished in the aluminum alloy die casting plant to reduce the surface roughness. Therefore, the selection of construction steel residue, microstructure symmetry, no chemical fiber trend, grinding and polishing should have black spots or orange peel shortcomings.
4. Adequate surface hardness and wear resistance
After heat treatment, the die should have sufficient surface hardness to ensure sufficient stiffness of the die. In the process of mold operation, because the filling and fluidity of aluminum alloy gas should bear great pressure and friction, the standard mold maintains stable shape accuracy and processing accuracy, and fully ensures that the mold has a sufficient service life. The wear resistance of the die depends on the chemical composition and heat treatment process of the steel. Therefore, improving die strength is beneficial to improve wear resistance.
In addition, in the selection of materials, the avoidance of damage and plywood must be taken into account. If there is relative movement between the two surfaces, minimize the selection of raw materials with the same organizational structure. In this case, one surface can be electroplated or nitriding so that the two surfaces have different types of surface structures.
