(1) Improvement technology of traditional heat treatment process. Die casting die factory thinks that the traditional heat treatment technology of die casting die is quenching and tempering, the so-called improvement technology of traditional heat treatment technology is to combine quenching and tempering with advanced surface treatment technology. Such as NQN(carbonitriding, quenching and carbonitriding composite strengthening), the surface hardness of the mold is higher, the internal strength is increased, the hardness gradient of the infiltration layer is reasonable, the tempering stability and corrosion resistance are improved, and the comprehensive performance and service life are greatly improved.
(2) Surface modification technology. Surface modification technology refers to the physical or chemical method of changing the surface properties of die. Generally speaking, there are two kinds: surface heat treatment, surface diffusion and surface laser treatment.
Die casting mold factory says surface heat treatment, diffusion and penetration technologies include carburizing, nitriding, boronizing, carburizing, sulfur carburizing, etc. Carburizing helps to increase the hardness of the die surface. Carburizing process includes solid powder carburizing, gas carburizing, vacuum carburizing and ion carburizing. Vacuum carburizing and ion carburizing have the advantages of fast carburizing speed, uniform carburizing layer, gentle carbon concentration gradient and small workpiece deformation. The nitriding process is simple, the nitriding layer of the mold has high hardness, good wear resistance and good viscosity resistance. Boronizing improves the surface properties obviously, and the hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and adhesion resistance of the die are all improved obviously, but the process conditions are harsh.
Laser treatment of die surface is a technology which has been developed in the last 30 years. It can improve the performance of die surface from two aspects. One is to melt the surface of the mold with laser, and then combine carburizing, nitriding, electroplating and other processes. Another method is to combine laser surface treatment technology with some metal auxiliary materials with good physical properties, so that it can be integrated with the die casting surface.
(3) Coating technology. Die casting manufacturers consider the coating technology to be a protective coating on the surface, such as PTFE composite plating. The main purpose is to enhance the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and cold and heat resistance of the mold.
Die casting factory thinks that choosing reasonable die casting process and maintenance is very important for the service life of die. Mold damage is mostly due to improper use and lack of scientific maintenance. First of all, special attention should be paid to the temperature control of the mold. The mold should be preheated before production, and an appropriate temperature range should be maintained in the production process to prevent surface cracking or even cracking caused by excessive temperature gradient between the inner and outer layers of the mold cavity. Secondly, the selection of high-quality die-casting release agent, moderate thickness, uniform thickness on the surface of the mold, to protect the mold material has an important role. In order to reduce the accumulation of thermal stress and avoid die casting cracking, tempering and other processes should be used regularly to eliminate the thermal stress.
